Funder Research : AI Agent Pilot

6
Sessions
Intermediate

Foundation and grant data is fragmented across paywalled databases and hard-to-use government filings. Searches are time-consuming and expensive. This pilot explores use of AI agents and open data to streamline research, surface new prospects, and make high-quality prospecting tools available to more organizations. No coding experience required.

Summary

Over six sessions, the we’ll explore building a working funder research agent from the ground up. Rooted in design sprint methodology, we’ll move from learning about the foundation and grant research landscape through to deploying a functional prototype — no coding experience needed.

Throughout the pilot, work with real open data from the Government of Canada, explore low-code tools like Google Colab, Pincone, Zapier and OpenAI Agent Builder, and tackle each phase together: from data preparation and vector database setup to agent building and testing. This isn't about passive learning — it's about rolling up your sleeves and piloting something practical that could inform how you approach fundraising and prospect research.

Whether you're curious about AI agents, interested in fundraising technology, or want to participate and connect with others through design process, this pilot offers a supportive space to experiment, learn, and build alongside others.
