How It Works

We work as embedded technology leaders for mission-driven organizations. Through discovery, facilitated workshops, and hands-on implementation, we help your team move from uncertainty about AI and new technology to a clear strategy and the leadership to act on it, building capacity that stays with your organization long after the engagement ends.

Getting started
Book a free 30-minute call to talk through where your organization is with AI and technology. It's a chance to get acquainted, gauge fit, and leave with recommended next steps. No preparation required.

Meet the Founder
Chris Cowperthwaite is the founder of Groundforce Digital and brings over a decade of experience helping social impact organizations adopt technology in ways that fit their mission. As a strategist, builder, and coach, he has led fractional technology roles, AI adoption engagements, and accelerator programs for nonprofits, coalitions, and social purpose startups across Canada. His approach pairs practical implementation with team capacity building, so innovation creates lasting change, not one-time projects.

1
Discovery & Roadmap

We start by understanding your goals, constraints, and how your team works today. Together we map where AI and technology can help, from quick wins to longer-term opportunities, and set a clear roadmap. This phase builds alignment and buy-in from the start.

2
Strategy & Facilitation

Through facilitated workshops, we bring a cross-section of your team together to shape the strategy: real use cases, shared guidelines, and the playbook your organization will run on. Involving the team early is what turns a plan into genuine buy-in.

3
Implementation & Capacity

We stay hands-on through implementation, with training, pilot projects, and coaching so new tools take hold in everyday work. The goal is a culture of learning and experimentation, and the leadership capacity across your team to keep driving change on its own.

4
Needs assessment

Every engagement starts with a free needs assessment: a short conversation with your team to understand your systems, workflows, and where technology could help. No cost, no commitment. You'll leave with a clear sense of the opportunity.

Chris is one of a small group of strategists in Canada that are working on digital transformation initiatives at the intersection of the third-sector and private sector. We need leaders like him to work with institutions to conceive new models for digital platforms that challenge the status quo.
